  I received just "bare-bones" service from Watch Over Me last summer when I needed two cats at my father's property fed and watered ONLY. The house was for sale and the kitties were living in the un-locked large garage with access outdoors, so no litter cleaning or key-entry to the house was needed: just once a day every third day please feed them (canned and dry food full) and make sure all water bowls were CLEANED and refilled. I paid her $18 for each visit to the house. I specifically pointed out that the three or four large water jugs for emergency use only -- in case the water shut down or whatever might happen as the house was gutted inside. I showed her how at every visit I cleaned the bowls with the hose and refilled them -- always making sure to have the emergency jugs full.
  After her second visit of feeding the cats, I asked her why she hadn't used the hose to clean and fill the bowls and keep the jugs full. Her answer: "It's easier." REALLY?
  Because I live 50 miles east and needed the "service" until the house sold, --- AND BECAUSE I COULD SEE THAT SHE DIDN'T THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT OR WORTH HER TIME -- I just had to deal with it. I was not at all happy with her attitude, but I had no choice.
  However, when July 4 rolled around and she said she would charge "Holiday Rates" for the 3-minute drive to empty two cans of food and fill dry food bowl to the two cats, I was livid. ENOUGH -- See ya!
  It's one thing if a service hits the mark 100% and has respect for you and your animals to charge a higher rate -- it's an entirely different matter when a service just barely provides the simple requests of a paying pet-owner. It was just another money-grab -- no better than the attorneys or realtors I was dealing with selling the house. Disheartening and a sad sign of the times.
  (And yes-- the two cats have a beautiful, loving, safe home for life.)
